Welcome! This is my 10th year teaching dance at TMS. I am also a 2003 TayIor High School graduate. I started dancing at a studio when I was 3 years old. During my younger years, up until I was 15 years old, I was on the studio's competition team where we traveled all over to compete at competitions and attend dance conventions taught by world renowned dance teachers. While in High School I was on the Taylor High Steppers Dance Team for 3 years and served as Colonel of the team my senior year. I danced in college on the MCC Dance Co. Team at McLennan Community College from 2003-2005. I then transferred to Texas State University and pursued my degree in Dance and Business Administration in 2008. After graduating from Texas State University, I took my first teaching job here at Taylor Middle School.

I love teaching the art of dance to my wonderful 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. I teach Dance 1, 2, and 3 classes. Throughout the year, we will study all styles of dance from Ballet, Jazz, Pom, High Kick, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Social Dance. Students will also learn self-discipline, self-confidence, and dedication through dance using the body as an expressive instrument, to increase muscle tone, flexibility and stamina, as well as explore different dance styles and techniques through various exercises in movement, develop a dance vocabulary /various choreographic skills, develop an understanding of dance history, and to develop kinesthetic awareness.

Students will dress out everyday for class in their TMS dance shirt, black jazz pants, and black jazz shoes.

I am very excited and looking forward to an awesome year!
